The gold perpetual quotes and trades 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including the hours when the spot gold market is closed.
No expiry, no rollover
Hold a position for as long as your margin allows. There is no delivery date and nothing to roll into the next contract.
Funding instead of swaps
No overnight swap. A funding payment passes between long and short positions at 00:00, 08:00 and 16:00 UTC, and can be paid or received.
Familiar contract sizes
One lot of the gold perpetual is 100 ounces, the same as our spot gold CFD; one lot of the Bitcoin perpetual is one bitcoin. Orders from 0.01 lot.

A perpetual is a contract with no delivery date. You can hold a position indefinitely, and instead of an expiry the contract stays anchored to the underlying market through a funding payment that passes between long and short positions three times a day.
XAUUSDPERP (gold in US dollars, one lot = 100 troy ounces) and BTCUSDPERP (Bitcoin in US dollars, one lot = one bitcoin). Both are traded on your MetaTrader 5 account alongside our other instruments.
At 00:00, 08:00 and 16:00 UTC a funding rate is set for each perpetual. If you hold a position at that moment, funding is booked to your account balance: position value multiplied by the rate. When the perpetual trades above spot, long positions pay and short positions receive; when it trades below, the direction reverses. Close before the funding time and no funding applies.
No. Perpetuals carry no overnight swap. Funding is the only holding cost, and it can be received as well as paid.
Both perpetuals trade 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with one scheduled break: Saturday from 12:00 to 13:00 platform time (09:00 to 10:00 UTC in summer, 10:00 to 11:00 UTC in winter), reserved for maintenance. Open positions and pending orders are untouched during the break and trading resumes automatically.
Margin requirements follow your account group and are shown in the symbol specification inside the trading platform. Initial margin on the standard group is 1% for the gold perpetual and 3% for the Bitcoin perpetual. The specification in the platform prevails over any figure shown on this site.
